We all know how unpredictable the weather is in the UK at this time of year. Last years floods were followed by more of the same this year, but some people have not learned their lesson from last year.
The alarming fact is that many people are considering or already have downgraded their premiums. This is certainly not advisable for one simple reason; if something was to happen, for example if the floods were to return, and you did not have suitable cover, you would end up paying thousands of pounds to repair the damage.
There are number of insurance packages around and whilst searching for them all may not be fun and games, they are often the most important purchases you are likely to make. Some people are cancelling policies to free up some money for rising utility and food bills.
Home insurance is something that is an absolute necessity. If you imagine the value of the products in your house it is worth spending the money on insurance for piece of mind. On some occasions, certain items may have sentimental value but no real value and imagine how you would feel if you lost something of sentimental value.
Simply having home insurance is not enough; you must have a certain level of cover to be protected against all eventualities. Checking the details of your policy will give you a better idea of what you will be protected against. There are a wide range of policies available with each one having its benefits but it is vital that you are aware of what you are covered for.
With a range of policies available, it is important to compare home insurance and you can do this by shopping online where you can compare all the deals from the leading insurers and hopefully save some money.
For all home owners, home insurance is vital and as there are ways of reducing your insurance premium you should not cut back as the consequences of an accident without insurance are unthinkable. Compare home insurance online to find the best deals.

Help answer the question about compare home insurance
Home Owners Insurance – What to look out for?We are currently looking for home owners insurance for our new house (first house) and now I have a few questions:
1) What are the "important" questions to ask while getting a quote?
2) So far I received several quotes already and all of them vary quite a bit. What are the most important points I have to look at, so I can compare "Apples-to-Apples".
3) The property is sold in the $600k range, but the "replacement value" on the quotes is usually in the $200k to $300k range. Is it normal for the replacement value be so much lower than the selling price?

i this for peace of mind the best advise i can give young folks starting out in the financial would i tell they they need to have a rainy day fund– 6 months of expenses money in a liquid account == and than start early planning for their retirement– and keep debt under control — is just takes a lot of good money management and hard work!!!
Republicans caused it.
Phil Gramm stripped away all regulations on the banking and housing industries. Without his actions, clinton's would have been totally innoculous.
If Bush had been able to stop vacationing long enough to read the brief about OBL's attack being imminent, he could have done what every previous president did — and kept the country safe.
If that had happened we don't invade Afganistan and we might not even invade Iraq. That is a ton of debt not incurred that would not devalue our dollar and spike the cost of oil (cost of oil moved as the dollar devalued).
All Republican ideas.

I get the pleasure of hearing this on the Thom Hartmann show now and again. Its truer every day.
David below: Actually so. Teddy Roosevelt (R) was one of the most liberal presidents ever, of any party.
I had thoughts like you, I was diagnosed with GAD (generalized anxiety disorder), depression, and obsessive thoughts. I have been on zoloft for about 9 months and it has been fantastic, but I started seeing an acupuncturist and we both decided I should not be on anti depressants because the long term health effects are not known.
I am on herbs right now, I am not sure exactly what one because my acupuncturist prescribed them to me but, I know you can take kava kava for anxiety, ginseng, or St. Johns Wort. You can also change your diet to reflect healthier choices, drink more water, exercise for at least 30 mins a day, and do meditation to help. All of these things can help. I really suggest also looking into acupuncture as it is also used to help manage anxiety, stress, and depression/
You will have your thirty days to get your possessions if you break up. But, just in case, you sjould take photos of all your possessions (you should also do this for insurance purposes).
Other than your personal property righjts, you have no rights.
my 9 month old brother loves this advert and you cant take him away from it

Great analogy, people can be extremely hypocritical about the facts but the reality is that responsible Fiscal programs have always been in place in order to provide us with the basic necessities of life…If helping others is Socialistic than I guess everyone in this country is a Socialist….
the fact of the matter is that Social Programs can be part of a responsible "Fiscal Policy", because they help lift people out of poverty and prevent people from falling into poverty.(this is why Social Security was established)… The regulations put in place by FDR, to keep us from ever falling into another depression, have been shredded by the de-regulators (and we know McCain is the de-regulation champion). Now we are riding that razors edge again and probably more dangerous, because we don't have the same industrial infrastructure as in the 1930s.
Republicans need to stop blaming the Democrats for the avenue our country has taken, they have not only benefited and enjoyed the fruits of their labor for too long but have failed to partake in making any kind of a difference in our country..you'd think with all money they have been lining their pockets with all these years our country would be in a better position..our current economic "meltdown" is evident that this "Greedy" method has clearly not worked…..
weird my 11 moth old loves this.
This is FABULOUS! Thank you for posting it!
And yes, I agree this is how Republicans (with blinders on) see things.
